I’m trying to pick a motherboard, but I can’t find anywhere which GPU each model has.
For example the Framework Laptop 13 Mainboard (AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series) has three models:
- AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series - Ryzen™ AI 5 340
- AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series - Ryzen™ AI 7 350
- AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series - Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370
The description on that page is quite vague, “With up to AMD Radeon™ 890M”, with no further specificity. I suppose the most expensive model is the 890M, but what about the other two?
What about the Framework Laptop 13 Mainboard (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)? I’ve been looking everywhere but can’t find even a hint of this anywhere.
Hi, great question! I’ve been there before as I transitioned from the Steam Deck. I hold a 7840U mainboard on my 13 right now as an FYI.
I use Notebookcheck.net as a reference for the chips and look to their graphics section for specifics to the integrated GPUs in the mainboard CPUs compared to dedicated GPUs.
I’ve linked the 7840U CPU here: AMD Ryzen 7 7840U Processor - Benchmarks and Specs - NotebookCheck.net Tech
You can press the Radeon 780M link in the graphics section and compare it as I’ve mentioned.
You oughta do the same between mainboard CPUs for specifics and comparisons to decide if your games can run on the graphics card/CPU on your FW13.
