I’ve had my framework laptop since January and it has been good to me. Here are it’s specs:
- Framework 13"
- Ryzen 5 7640u
- 16 Gb Ram DDR5 (1x16Gb)
- 1Tb M.2. SSD (taken from my previous Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7)
However, in the past month, it started to show some instability reguarding Xorg’s X11.
Here is the issue:
About 5 out of 6 times, When starting X11 (using startx), the entire display freezes and becomes unresponsive (forcing me to switch TTY and kill xinit). However, if x11 survives the first minute or so, it then appears to be perfectly stable. This issue does NOT occur on Wayland.
What did I try:
- switching window manager (tried dwm, i3, and icewm)
