Q's about mounting battery above the FW 13 mainboard in a portable 3d printed frame

@Chris_Andersen that’s exactly what I’m planning to do - glasses setup with a relatively powerful Windows / Linux keyboard computing unit.

I’ve been busy on other work recently so I’m still working on the CAD model and test prints. I chose a bad PETG for the outer shell that prints horribly despite controlling for temperature, moisture, print speed etc, so that slowed me down when prototyping the first few bits. I have some temperature-resistant PETG for the inner shell but it’s more expensive, so I’m waiting until I’m further along with my prototyping so its not wasted.

The plan remains to place the battery under the board, with a significant gap between battery + mobo, a divider panel separating mobo from battery, and some heat reflecting material on the dividing panel to point the mobo heat away from the battery. I highly recommend pitstop_tech’s videos at the bottom of this thread - Framework Gaming Handheld Video! - #43 by pitstop_tech

There’s been a lot of similar work in this area on these forums and I’m keeping my eyes peeled as well. I’m still feeling cautious about extending the battery wires (which I’ll need to do to accomodate for the gap between the battery and mobo).

Will post more when I have an update worth showing
