The power button light doesn’t go off and the fan continues to run after clicking “Power Off”->“Power Off…”
Restart also fails.
Hibernate and Suspend also aren’t working but I’d rather focus on Power Off first…

journalctl -b -1 -r Has some output like this:

Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd-journald[37161]: Journal stopped
Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd-shutdown[1]: Sending SIGTERM to remaining processes...
Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd-shutdown[1]: Syncing filesystems and block devices.
Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd[1]: Shutting down.
Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd[1]: Reached target poweroff.target - System Power Off.
Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd[1]: Finished systemd-poweroff.service - System Power Off.
Sep 22 01:19:44 name systemd[1]: systemd-poweroff.service: Deactivated successfully.

They don’t have a zip file on that page (they say to stay on 3.04, which I’m already beyond, probably because I bought my 12th series late in the game)! So that means I would have to create a bootable windows drive and another drive for the MSI file to install it…

It’ll take me a few days to get to this - unless you have an easier suggestion :innocent:

  1. Reset the EC by following the full power down reset guide
  2. Boot a live iso off usb and see if it shuts down correctly
  3. Isolate down to just laptop without any modules or peripherials and test
