Laptop not turning off after poweroff

Hey there! I’ve had this problem for the past week or two and I can’t find a solution for this…

When I power off my laptop, the typical Linux poweroff happens, screen turns black but the power button LED stays on (solid white). What I noticed is that rebooting doesn’t work either, the same thing happens.

My setup is the Framework laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen 7040, running Arch Linux with Gnome on Wayland.

Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Or how to find a way to debug/find a way to fix this?

Thanks!

What kernel version?

I expect this should fix it;

I’m on the LTS kernel, specifically 6.6.32-1-lts. Should I try stable?

Tried switching to stable 6.9.2-arch1-1, it works great! Thanks!

For me it does eventually shut off, just takes a really long while. I traced the problem to tmux in the logs if you use that. Will also try a kernel upgrade when I’m back at my PC to see if it resolves.

(Arch 6.9.1 cachyos-bore)

I have this issue also. Running Fedora 6.8.10-300 on Intel 13th gen.

How do I check the shutdown logs?
