13" conversion into a tablet like the 12": Possible/doable or is it impossibly/prohibitively difficult?

Does it makes sense to anyone else that the upcoming 12" laptop would open the door to swap in the touch display on the 13" laptops?

Afraid you would need to squeeze in an 30 to 40 pin adapter.

It’s a smaller 30pin connector and cable for cost and size reasons.
