13" forgets expansion module

USB port - that I use for phone pad charging and wireless mouse - goes dead occasionally. Resolved by ejecting module and reconnecting but I shouldn’t have to do that… what’s the fix?
Thanks

There are many topics on this for various cards and ports.

There is no ‘solution’ but you can try and rests the main board, which often stops the issue for some considerable time.

I just put up with it on my 256Gb expansion card.

?.. I searched ‘expansion module’ and nothing came up…

No solution?!.. Jeez…

Adam_M,

Maybe this Community search thread list may help provide some issues with USB expansion modules not responding or appearing dead:

Look in the official guides if you aren’t sure how to reset

Use USBC instead of USB-A. I recently discovered that when using USB-A as power output, the power will be cut if the current draw is above 1.6A despite ports rated 3A. Many USB-A peripherals like older(before usb power delivery) power banks or 18650 li-ion charger or flashlights that draw 1.6 to 2.1A that are fine on other computers can’t be used on framework laptop 13.

Charlie_6,

That’s a shame. I prefer USB-C but purchased a set of USB-C to USB-A adapters for some of my rare legacy USB special use cases. I purchased only one USB-A module to test some of my LIVE USB thumb drives with until I read about the phantom power use of the USB-A modules a while back. I don’t know if that ever got resolved or not.
