Hi there! So I finally got my hands on my Framework laptop. I was installing Windows but my USB drive wasn’t working properly so I installed the installation tool on the 1TB expansion card (at the time it showed as a 1TB drive).
I got windows and the drivers installed and then wanted to reformat the expansion card so that it would have the original exFAT format it had before. When I did this I noticed that it would only let me select it as a 32GB drive. It doesnt seem to let me use the original 1TB.
Anyone know whats going on and how to fix it?
You probably have to re-patition the Drive.
- press [Win] and “R” at the same Time, enter “diskmgmt.msc” and hit enter.
- Look for the “bar” of the USB card.(in the bottom)
- rightclick the blue bar, and click “delete volume”. (ALL of the Data on the Drive will be deleted, so be sure you select the correct one)
- now rightclick on the “black bar” and click “new simple volume…”
- just keep hitting “next”
- You should now see the full 1TB
