I have installed ChromeOS Flex on it. It’s a great device for such a lightweight OS.
And I’m not the only one.
I would really love to swap it for AluminumOS [note: not an official website] if it were ever released for UEFI-compatible systems.
Been now happy user of Fedora KDE Plasma. When got laptop, wanted try some other distro what is not Ubuntu or based on that since previously only used/tried those. Looked up the list, what distros had offical support for FW12 and choose to Fedora KDE Plasma. Though Mint was appealing since it was my favorite years ago from my last experience with Linux. Been on windows because my wife gaming needs from Microsoft store and Fanatec software.
But later tried out, how Fedora Workstation suits to me but found, KDE Plasma is more efficent to me and now no plans to change it in near future. Though there are aspects of Mint, what i miss but with effort i think, i can fix that too when i sometime try.
Alpine linux fly on my FW12! Many people think that alpine is only for cloud/vm but it’s a real OpenRC/Musl desktop distro. Easy to install (in text mode only but you can install xorg and / or wayland).
Fast, secure and really easy if you have some basics knowledge of Linux.
Oh wow, 0 Ubuntu / 0 Bazzite? I really like the default branding of those two distros, but they both look out of place on my Bubblegum laptop.
I’ve rebased to Bluefin, spent too much time configuring dash-to-whatever extensions, and the result still feels worse than stock KDE Plasma. Meh. But the background auto-updates seem to work, which is great because the FW12 is sometimes borrowed by family members without admin privileges.
