But… none of us have 13 Pro’s yet!
We all eagerly, patiently (or impatiently) await production and preorder fulfillment. :face_in_clouds:

So, what would we like to use for our 13 Pros, whenever we obtain one? Arch, of course, & by the way! Not really :upside_down_face:

You can list what you plan to use when it arrives

nixos because it only need to confiture once, and it was done 2 years ago.

and it’s easy to try no WMs

Aurora: stable, secure and very well tuned for the existing FW AMD line.

I absolutely plan on installing Guix System! I’ve been using Arch on my current laptop and NixOS on my servers, but after discovering the raw power of Guix… I can’t go back to NixOS after realizing how much more coherent and powerful Guix is… especially given that there is proper support for running the Nix daemon. There’s only a few downsides: longer clone time, not many service definitions (Guix uses Shepherd instead of systemd), and comparatively few packages in the primary channel (including only linux-libre…). Almost all of those are mitigated, though, by what Guix enables: the full repository clone enables time travel, and channels are well thought out and actually used, especially with inferiors. The real enabler, though, is Scheme as the language instead of Nix. After discovering someone configuring their system in Org mode files… I really can’t look anywhere else.
Sorry, that was a bit evangelical: but basically, I love Guix and plan on going all in when I get my Framework!

I miss Omarchy as an option! That’s what I will be running

I’ve been liking popos with cinnamon. But not sure what I’ll put on the 13pro. maybe arch. maybe nixos…
