I was running Fedora for a couple of months, then transferred over to Ubuntu on my Framework 13 that I purchased about a year ago. I also had a windows dual boot on a 500gb partition of the drive that I would use maybe once or twice a month for odd tasks. It has an AI 9 HX 370, and caused my 2tb SSD to read 241,107 in the Power On Count section of crystal disk info. This is true within the Kingston SSD Manager as well. Has anyone had a similar issue? It seems hard to be true as it only has 512 hours on it and that would average out to 7-8 power on cycles every single minute that it was powered on. It doesn’t seem like there is any bad wear on the drive as the NANDs only have about a 2 tb of reads and 3 tb of writes. I swapped a 1 tb drive over from my main PC that’s in good health because I didn’t need the 2 tb of space. I really want to stop this from happening on my other drive. I read one or two forums of people having this happen on Windows but not on Linux so I’m wondering if this is common or an odd case?
I had a lot of issues with parasitic power drain when the computer was in sleep and I tried absolutely everything I could think of it reduce this and get better battery life. I just ended up shutting the computer down whenever I wasn’t going to use it for more than a couple hours. The lack of battery life made me swap over to an M4 Pro as well…
