A call on 240w adapter

Not sure why all 3 axes would be needed but here is a comparison.

Damn, I dunno why I didn’t check  thank you!

Ooh, that’s exciting. Thanks for sharing! I’m tempted to grab one from Digikey since it looks like they have a few more in stock.

It seems the USB output is fixed. ???

So to be careful of cable fraying etc.

Now to hear from you if it works.

Good luck and thanks for being the ‘tester’ here

Nice that you have a 240W supply to test. Bummer they elected to go with a fixed USBC cable. The decision was probably made so people did not plug the wrong cable into it and not get the 240W because the cable was not capable of handling it. This would significanly reduce the “return” rate of users who thought it was defective and did not deliver on the 240W promise.

I personally hope someone makes the Arrow/Infineon 240W PD3.1 model as it looks nice and compact, has been tested to be dissapative enough, and has a slot for bring your own USBC PD 3.1 cable.

What I feel many people are going to not realize is that the higher wattage is not going to be nearly as efficient as the 100W chargers. This will be used by those that truly need the 240W as they push the laptop to its limits (gaming, etc.) and those that just WANT to have the 240W despite never actually needing it except in bursts which is why the 180W charger was a great decision by Framework at the time.

Dunno what came over me  Thank you, those photos cover it nicely!

The cable seems to be quite bulky/thick, that’s good to know. I would anyway wire it permanently into my desk, so this doesn’t bother me.

That’s where I got it, came in like a week.

Yeah, it seems to work great. There was some noise but I attribute that to my cheap usb to display port cable and went away completely when I moved the cords away from each other. I’m guessing with a better display port cable it wouldn’t have been an issue.

Please test this and post results! We want to see numbers and dGPU performance!

I honestly wouldn’t know how to benchmark it other than it works well and when I’m going all out with gaming using my dGpu the battery no longer drains.

What more does anyone want.

All the best

Thanks

Oh wow, I never linked to the adapter on Digikey’s website. Anyway, this is where I got it for those that want a link. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/delta-electronics/ADP-240KB-BA/23026419

So far I quite like mine.

227.3W

Whoa was a bit confused. Somehow this Thread was merged with another 240w Charger Thread. It is amazing to see how fast digikey went. I ordered mine on the 26. and yesterday it arrived. From the US to Germany Order till Doorstep 4 Days was great.

Mods frequently merge similar threads. For a short time, the forum leaves the OP / top post of the previous thread. But it’s left a locked state with a link to where posts have been merged to. Additionally, all participants of the prior thread should get notified by the forum’s system that their posts have been merged into the new thread.

I am very much pleased with what they come up. but I still think it is a bit too big. and the cable is fixed as well.

I got mine as well. Running Cinebench and Furmark together in Windows 11, balanced draws 161 W from the wall. Best performance it shows 230W cars from the wall.

No battery drain!

More use needed so I can see how much more performance I can get as well as thermals (including the PSU itself).

It makes me appreciate the FW 180W’s right angle connector, for sure. That straight plug just feels like it can get in the way in some circumstances.

Does this happen to you? At least on Linux, it will drain down to 30% and then lower to the balanced performance, which will stop draining the battery.

I am tempted to buy one of these, but a non-replaceable usb cable is a major drawback.

Well never happened as i stayed in balanced most the Time, due to i knew it would drain. I Use my Setup also for VR and there you do not get a Battery Warning. So getting an extra Notch on the GPU Helps alot too. Gets Hell of a Good Feeling to be able to use the Full Performance without worriyng about Breaks to let it Charge :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Im curious - did you Cinebench R23 score increase? You would think it wouldnt. But just curious if it did.
