AMD 7040 Framework 13 not booting

My laptop stopped booting the other day; it won’t even make it to the BIOS screen. I see the dots on the side for diagnostic information, but they’re all green. I don’t remember what the post code was, but I can grab it if that’s helpful. Looking around the forum here it doesn’t seem like it generally is. I tried leaving the laptop to fully charge for a day hoping maybe that’d help. Nothing.

I didn’t do anything special, but it might have stopped booting after an update? I don’t remember if that was the case or not. I might have rebooted between updates at some point. I run NixOS and the last update was to 25.05. Normally a broken update would still at least let me get to the BIOS though.

Any ideas? I noticed there is not RTC battery in these and it did go a while sitting without being charged, could it be that?

Yes, but my answer won’t be satisfying. I just left my laptop alone for a while because I got pretty busy and one day I plugged it in and it booted again. I had the boot failure one other time recently and it gave the diagnostic blinks and everything, but just rebooting seemed to work… Confusing.
