AMD FW13: Fingerprint reader issues W11pro

bios 3.03
Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (build 22631.3235)

Recently as of this week, I’ve been having issues where my fingerprint reader no longer works.

Device manager shows device status:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver which seems to correct it for a short while, but then the issue comes back. I’ve also re-registered my fingerprint as I saw a thread that suggested it could help.

I installed OS updates 2/29 which closely coincide with the issue. I’m still trying to find when/what exactly causes it to disable. Seems like it could be sleep related?

Probably not a useful answer, but it sounds like a Windows bug to me. Microsoft got rid of their entire QA department several years ago, they’re relying on users to identify and report any problems nowadays, and it’s very obvious. :frowning:

I suspect you are right. It hasn’t been happening anymore and I didn’t see any new kb installed in event viewer so :person_shrugging:
