Archive Sold Posts in Community Market

Hi,

Is there any filter or setting in the Community Market that allows me to hide sold posts so I can focus only on the available ones?

Considering the forum isn’t really designed for this purpose, not really? You could ctrl+f “sold” which should highlight sold listings and make it easier to skip past them as you scroll. Also sort by “new” should result in more unsold listings

Or refine the search by whatever specific part/laptop you’re looking for

The other option is to use eBay which is designed for transactions like this

You’re right that the forum itself isn’t primarily designed for buying and selling, but the Community Market section does exist specifically for that purpose. Since there is a dedicated section, I think it’s reasonable to share a few small suggestions to improve the forum’s usability for transactions.

I also keep an eye on eBay, but I feel that people here usually know their devices better and are more willing to discuss Framework-related knowledge, which is something eBay can’t really offer.

At the moment, I manually filter posts that have “sold” in the title. Unfortunately, most listings already appear to be sold, and since there’s no archive, it can still be a bit of a hassle to find posts with available machines. On top of that, some sellers only mention in their post text that the item has been sold without updating the title, so the method doesn’t always work.

You misunderstand my point. Discourse is forum software, Framework is limited by the tools that Discourse provides. Do you know of any other forums using Discourse that have that granular control over displaying posts?

I’m not a forum admin or a web developer, so I’m not really familiar with the development or technical logic behind the forum. Thanks for explaining this—I’ll look into whether such a feature exists. Hopefully, some features like this can be added in the future.
