Audio crackles when waking up after ryzen ai upgrade

Hello community,

I just upgraded my laptop from a ryzen 7040 to ryzen ai mainboard a couple of days ago and all seemed to be working fine. However, I noticed that the audio is crackling after waking up from standby. Rebooting solves the issue. The issue did not exist with the ryzen 7040 mainboard.

Which Linux distro are you using? Fedora 43, all up to date

Which kernel are you using? 6.18.5-200

Which BIOS version are you using? 03.04

Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using? Ryzen AI 370 HX

Steps:

  • use laptop
  • close lid for a couple of seconds
  • open lid
  • start audio, e.g. youtube video, mp3, system sounds

Symptoms:

audio interrupts every 0.5 to 1 second, cracklng/popping

Workaround:

reboot

What I tried:

  • Un-/reinstalling pipewire/pipewire-pulseaudio/pipewire-alsa based on this topic, no success.
  • Disabling the real time canary based on this topic, no success

Any ideas what might go wrong and how to solve this? Thanks a lot!

Hold on, it seems the real time canary disabling actually did solve it for now. I did another reboot and tested waking up a couple of times and no crackling so far.
