Hello all,
I have an original Framework 13 (11th gen intel) running Linux. I noticed recently that my battery was swelling slightly. Not an issue, I rremoved it, recycled it and ordered a new one.
During the time it was without a battery, the BIOS update 3.25 came out. I’ve updated my BIOS before, and this time proceeded to do so again. All appeared to work correctly, except when I started, the previous bios verison (3.24) was still present. I tried again, but received error 331: “Full FW upgrade using the same version is not allowed”
Looking into the instructions more, I see an issue where a battery is required to be present to perform the upgade.
My question for support: Given the error I am seeing now, can I expect a BIOS update to function correctly after installing my battery, or do I have to do something else?
The Battery e-mail says I am required to update the BIOS before installing the new battery, however, I suspect 3.24 will be sufficient to allow me to boot once and install the new BIOS. It does seem a bit circular: battery required for update, please update before installing battery.
