Recently noticed an occasional scratching or scraping sound when the fans spun up on my Framework, like the fan was scraping against something. Decided to open it up and there was a black metallic strip (see image below) that fell out of the fan assembly. Not sure if its important, but device (and fans) seem to work fine? Would have asked support but since the device appears to be fine seems a bit trivial…
The strip itself is black, fairly magnetic (stuck to the screwdriver) and about 5cm long.
Anyone knows what it could be/if its important?
