I recently started having this issue where, if I start, or restart, my machine while connected to my CalDigit TS3 Plus Thunderbolt 3 Dock - 85W
dock, the machine boots with a blank screen. The keyboard backlights do come on, but the display remains blank no matter how long I wait (if I wait long enough, I also hear fans starting to spin up quite a bit). Ultimately, I have to hard-reset and reboot the machine with the Dock detached.
This issue has been happening consistently, every time I boot or reboot the machine (while connected to the dock). This a new phenomenon as the laptop used to work perfectly with the dock. I’m not sure if the issue is at all related to the BIOS 3.08 (beta) upgrade, or the Fedora 42 upgrade, since I have just returned to using the dock after ~2-3 weeks. For the time being, my workaround is to disconnect from the dock when I need to reboot the machine.
I should probably highlight the fact that when the machine is re/booted when docked, I don’t see anything on the screen; not even the Framework splash screen.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
Update 1: Clarified the language, added add’l detail and improved formatting.
Update 2: Highlighted the fact that I don’t even see FW splash screen at boot time.
