I just received my new Framework 16, I have tried swapping the boot ssd from my other laptop, it fails to boot into that, errors. I have also tried booting from an install usb and it says “EFI USB Device (General) boot failed.”
Any ideas? I’ve tried formatting the usb in two different ways, and confirmed the install usb works on another PC.
what are you trying to install? Does it support secure boot? if not then try to disable it? press F2 during boot, there is a separate menu to disable it.
which port are you using?
I’m trying NixOS, I don’t believe it supports secure boot but I cannot find any option in the bios to disable secure boot, looked through every menu. Security or boot I’d have assumed but neither has it.
Actually sorry I have found it, I didn’t realize there were two different bios screens, got confused looking around in it.

I had issues trying to get the Windows 11 25H2 installer to work (created using Rufus). The installer just stopped on a blank pale blue screen, and didn’t react to any input.
It sorted itself out after removing the SD-card expansion card! Somehow Windows PE must have gotten confused about the additional drive.
