Can the RGB Keyboard Show Live-Data?

I’m considering upgrading to the RGB keyboard (especially since my current keyboard died), but I would only be interested in it if I could use the RGB to show various stats such as CPU/GPU temperature, utilization, battery % and etc. Does anyone know if it’s possible (via stock or custom firmware) to make the keyboard animations aware of device information live?

I would also like to be able to use software (e.g. via command line) to turn the lights on/off entirely based on whether I’m on battery or not.

The keyboard hardware is open source so yes, anything is possible. You will most likely need to write that type of functionality yourself.

I ordered the RGB one, thanks.

I was actually wondering the same thing this morning (I guess great minds think alike  ) - let us know what you do with it!

Search for the openRGB firmware which a community member posted. I think that will be the easiest option for controlling the lighting from a script.
