I took my framework out of my bag today (just reached one year) and the physical click of the touchpad didn’t work. I noticed that the chassis had a very slight (1mm bend). The touchpad can take literally no tolerance of bend in the chassis without it getting blocked by the battery. Combined with a very bendy chassis and it inevitably will end up blocked after long term use.
To fix it take the top cover off and remove the battery. Then brute force bend the front chassis inward to undo the bend. It looks and feels horrible as I’m pretty sure it ruins the rigidity of the metal even more but one needs a working touchpad . This definitely needs to be fixed in future versions with either more tolerance for the touchpad or a more rigid bottom chassis.
