Desktop+cable into---->Laptop=monitor and keyboard?

I am currently building a desktop PC, but don’t have a keyboard. I do have a laptop (sadly not a framework) and am wondering if anyone knows if you can plug a cable from the GPU into the laptop’s HDMI, and have the laptop keyboard working but with the desktop PC, kind of like a portable monitor with a keyboard. Does anyone have any info on this? Yes I know there are keyboards for like 5 bucks but I’m too cheap to get one since I am going to wait until I can get a mechanical keyboard instead.

unfortunately, your GPU and Laptop HDMI ports are likely both only Display Out, meaning that each could be connected to a monitor to output a display signal, but you wouldn’t be able to use the laptop as a Display input, and either way there would be no signals other than display, so the Keyboard and trackpad would not send signals across that link.

Alright then, thank you for the info.
*edit- I’m looking at some mechanical keyboards I can get from Taobao, since I can get a keyboard shipped from China to the US.
