Display bezel glued shut to my now-broken screen, what do?

Hi there! Quite happy FW13 owner here (DIY Edition). Tbf everything’s been great so far… Until I tried to remove the laptop’s bezel.

In the initial assembly guide, it mentioned to remove the bezel’s adhesion tape so it could stick to the bottom of the display, so ofc I did that.

Today I’ve tried to remove the bezel, which I assumed was very simple, but I cannot for the life of me get the adhesive to un-stick. I’ve had to use so much force I unfortunately damaged the display… And I STILL haven’t got the bezel to move.

Is this “normal” or should I get in touch with Support?

That is very interesting, you should be able to remove the bezel easily. I usually use my nails to separate the bezel from the display and then just pull it. can you share some videos or pictures?

Sure! I don’t have a video unfortunately, but I’ve just taken some pictures: Microsoft OneDrive

I’ve “fixed” the bezel by dapping my finger on the adhesive for a while, and it now feels a lot more like the video on your guide.

Is it possible a wrong type of adhesive were applied in production?

I don’t think so, since we have not received any similar reports… very interesting, you have taken the bezel pictures in this folder before you applied, is that right? and now you can’t remove it, at all?

These are indeed my pictures. Although correction: After posting, I did manage to remove the bezel through excessive brute-force

thanks for the update, this is very weird. normally you should be able to remove it very very easily.
