Display damaged by removal of bezel

Framework 13 with AMD 7040 (first gen) with original matte display, running ArchLinux with latest kernel.

I recently bought a new trackpad, hinge, and bezel. First two were for wear/tear, with the latter upgrade for aesthetics. After replacing the hinge, I noticed that one segment of the display was dead except for a red line:

Unfortunately, it seems as though the adhesive holding the bezel damaged. Pressing lightly on the bottom of the display causes some change to the red line. Here’s a picture with the laptop fully booted to show that the first segment still works okay:

I re-seated/blew out/wiggled the display cable many times, so I don’t believe thats the cause, although I could be wrong. You can see some adhesive lines up perfectly with the damaged area, and it clearly pulled apart the black wrapped section:

I’m pretty sure this is out of warranty (purchase date of Dec 31, 2023), but I am posting this to the support forum because I believe the Framework guides should be updated to reflect the care that needs to be taken when removing the bezel.

Regarding warranty, it depends which country you are in.
For example, the EU has 2 year warranty.

USA, unfortunately. Plus not clear it would even be covered under warranty.

You said you replaced the hinge and bezel.
Did you replace both sides hinge?
I am thinking that if only one side was replaced, it might have put uneven pressure on the display and maybe caused this. I am mentioning it in case it might cause the same problem when you get a new display.

Nope, both sides! They were both shot to hell.
