Hi,
My screen suddenly started showing vertical red lines (see attached photos) few mintues after i open my computer. There was no drop or impact — it just appeared out of nowhere.
Any idea if this means the screen itself is dead, or could it be something else?

Because the white text does not appear to be affected by the red bands, i would say the display is ok, and there is a problem with the cpu/gpu.
You might want to try an external display and see if that has bands also.

I’ve tried to connect it to external monitor, and it is working as expected.
The text is affected, it is just not clear in the image.
Ok. In that case, it is more likely a display panel problem.
Another good test is to see if you can reproduce the problem in the bios screens.

You would need to contact FW support via their web site to get a more certain answer.
You can then buy the replacement part from FW, or their might be some second hand ones for sale.
It is not difficult to replace the part yourself.
You might still be in warranty, some countries have 2 or even 3 year warranty, and just the replacement might be free.
