The title says it all, but does the new framework 16 come with the new webcam v2 built in? I think it’s a waste if it doesn’t. I don’t mind there being a small upgrade price in the spec builder but if it comes with v1 and I have to buy and swap to v2, that’s against the framework goal i believe.
All the new Framework Laptops shipping now except the FW 16 come with the second gen module. The FW 16 was released before the release of the second gen webcam module so I believe it is still using the first gen modules.
Afaik Framework doesn’t change the specs of a laptop without doing an announcement, especially considering that the new webcam is worse in some ways (ex. Fps) even though it is overall better.
Currently the only laptops that Framework ships with the new webcam are the Framework Laptop 13 with Intel Core Ultra Series 1 as well as the 2.8k display variants of the Framework Laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen 7040 series. The Framework Laptop 16 as well as the 1504p display variants of the Framework Laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen 7040 series have the old webcam.
