Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using?
AMD Ryzen™ AI 7 370 Series (Pro)
Installed Windows first, then CachyOS. Haptic Touchpad worked on both out-of-the-box pretty well, without running any updates. Then I finished the instructions for CachyOS to run fwupdmgr, and the haptic part of the touchpad stopped working (and the automatic fan control as well, needed to debug running a manual fan curve first using “Framework Control”…)
Hopping back on windows, the haptics stopped working on Windows as well! So something messed with the firmware enough in one of the installers to break the haptics?
I reran the different updaters from windows but that could not restore functionality. Framework Laptop 13 AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series — BIOS 4.02 | Resources
Any way to rollback/refresh the update for the touchpad specifically manually? Or to debug what went wrong with haptics?
from windows, running framework_tool.exe --click-force low --verbose prints nothing, but on Cachy it errors out:
❯ framework_tool --click-force low --verbose
[ERROR] Failed to set click force: hidapi error: Could not find a haptic touchpad
