"Expansion Bay Cable improperly connected" BIOS screen

I have the 1st-gen mainboard and the RX 7700S dGPU.
After disassembling the laptop to clean the dGPU fans and reassembling it, it no longer boots, instead showing the message “Expansion Bay Cable improperly connected”. The QR code shown on-screen points to Install Graphics Module (dGPU) - Framework Guides, but that guide does not mention an Expansion Bay Cable.
There is 1 other thread mentioning this error, but it was closed without a clear resolution. Hopefully I can figure out where the fault is by process of elimination.

Reseating the Expansion Bay Shell Interposer, as suggested in the other thread, did indeed solve the problem. Can the documentation be updated?

There is a little micro-switch that detects if you have screwed all the screws in around the expansion bay “interposer”.
There are 6 screws around it. 4 on the interposer and 2 beside it.
Maybe you missed one.
Also, the dGPU uses a different looking interposer than the non-dGPU expansion bay.
