Extra Screws included

Oh wow, I just found out while replacing my liquid metal. Framework also includes spare screws in the framework 16 kinda like with the 13

When I had my FW16, I saw the screws, but never realized they were extras! I thought they were holding something down.

I thought so too! But after looking under them turns out they aren’t holding anything.

Good eye!

Well, I have a host of other issues with my FW16 so glad to be done with it. Waiting for another couple years to see if they fix all the little issues.

Might pick up a FW13 since it’s been out for a while now (and hopefully all the kinks worked out).

That’s cool! I didn’t even notice that when I spent the couple hours the other night replacing my liquid metal. But I was also watching a movie at the same time. Framework 16, best laptop I have ever owned.

the 16 really is the best laptop I’ve owned… especially since other companies would have probably just said, you need to buy a new laptop for the better thermal solution or it would cost a few hundred dollars to get it replaced.

Could anyone describe where these screws are so I can add them to the visually impaired guide please? That’s the first I’ve heard of them.

Oh yea, the screws are locates under the ventilation plate.

After removing the expansion bay/GPU and the keyboard midplate. You can remove the ventilation plate with the fingerprint sensor. You will then reveal the screws. They are located on the left side of the right display hinge and under the white antenna cable. There appears to be one of each kind of non captive screw.

Thank you very much for that.
I think you mean the left hinge though?
The antenna cable is over by the left hinge.

There are actually two antenna cables. The black antenna cable goes over the left hinge but the secondary white cable goes over the right hinge.

The design mus have changed at some point. On mine both cables run through a channel in the frame near the left hinge.
