Fan rattle at idle

When the system is idling, I notice a faint rattling/ticking from the fan. Unfortunately I couldn’t get my phone mic to pick up the sound.

Any suggestions for troubleshooting this? I hope I don’t need a replacement board.

I just read your other topic.
My FW runs silently. In this case, you’ll want to speak to FW support for sure. The good news is that the HSF is easily removable (and if you’re ever inclined, easy to re-apply paste to).
If you were so inclined, you could crack the system open and check that the screws are all tight against the processor. The fan is unlikely to rattle if it’s loose, but a short, minimally forceful clockwise twist on the screws can’t hurt too much just to make sure that it’s as tight as it needs to be. Do not remove the HSF though - focus on tightening it only. Thermal compound usually needs to be reapplied fresh and completely when the heatsink is removed.

Thinking about it more, it’s not a rattle. More likely some very mild coil whine. I’ll reach out to support about this.

I finally managed to make a video that captures the buzzing sound. The fans are pretty loud, but the buzzing is separate.
