I find that when doing light tasks, the fan will often still run, though slow enough that I have to lean my head down close to be able to hear it. But it does ramp up occasionally, depending on what I’m doing. I imagine this is due not only to the plastic chassis (which holds in heat a bit), but also the design with minimal venting. It’s a double-edged sword. I love that there aren’t a ton of vents to pull in dust and which will end up blocked depending on the surface the laptop is sitting on. But this also means that there is very little passive cooling going on.
