Using Framework 13” AMD AI 300 Series, Fedora 43 with KDE Plasma, I’m having issues with external displays. I’ve tried using both the Framework HDMI expansion card and an external USB-C to HDMI adapter on two different displays.
Both displays are large (one is a TV, one is a projector), and are displaying at an extremely low resolution (both with mirroring and extending). When I try changing the resolution to something higher (it advertises an appropriate range), and click apply, nothing appears to change (doesn’t briefly turn off, doesn’t give the revert-in-15-seconds popup, it’s as if I never pressed apply).
Some monitors, however, work just fine, and both default to a normal resolution and allow me to change their resolutions (display turns black briefly, then asks if I want to revert).
As I occasionally need to connect to projectors and TVs for my work, this is a very inconvenient issue and I have found no solution.
Any ideas on what I need to do?
