As the title says:

❯ lsusb | rg -i finger
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 27c6:609c Shenzhen Goodix Technology Co.,Ltd. Goodix Fingerprint USB Device

❯ fwupdmgr get-devices | rg -i finger
Idle…: 0%

And, I don’t know if it’s related, but I have an issue where sometimes, my fingerprint sensor won’t be recognized anymore after coming back from sleep.

I just saw the same thing, on Arch Linux with kernel 6.16.4, no mention of fingerprint reader in fwupdmgr, despite it existing in lsusb. fwupd 2.0.14 in case that matters.

I don’t actually use the fingerprint reader, but I figured I’d check for firmware updates, which I haven’t done since soon after I got the laptop, probably a bit over 20 months ago (when there was an important firmware update for the fingerprint reader, which was a bit tricky to apply at the time).

Opened Goodix FP reader 27c6:609c disappeared from `get-devices` · Issue #9205 · fwupd/fwupd · GitHub upstream.
