Framework 13 (12th Gen) discharges while plugged in and Active on AC

Windows 11 (24H2, build 26100) / Framework Laptop 13, 12th Gen Intel Core. Using a 65W USB-C PD brick (Anker).

My laptop charges normally when suspended or shut down, but actively discharges while powered on and plugged in, even at idle. Windows shows “plugged in,” the charge LED is amber, and HWiNFO confirms the battery state as “AC, discharging.” Battery report data illustrating the pattern (same day, same charger/different ports):

  • Suspended on AC, 08:44–14:31: charged 14% → 100%
  • Active on AC, 15:36–18:16: drained 61% (29,630 mWh) → 3% (1,432 mWh)
  • Rapid AC > Battery > AC flapping (three source transitions within one second on multiple occasions)

Battery health appears fine: 48,957 mWh full charge capacity vs 55,009 design (~89%), 68 cycles. Modern Standby is also misbehaving and drains ~17W in Connected Standby with fans running (100% > 54% overnight). I’ve updated BIOS from 3.05 to 3.19 and still having issues no change. Tried ports on both sides, bypassed the USB-C expansion card and plugged into the bare mainboard port, tried a different cable and charger… what can I do to get the unit to recognize and use the AC power instead of the battery when in use?
