Framework 13 AMD 7840 doesn't work with USB 4 dock over 40gbps cable, but works with 10gbps cable

I have a Framework 13 AMD 7840 running windows 11 and an Anker 568 dock that is connected to 2 external monitors. When I try to connect my laptop to the dock using the included 40gpbs cable, the monitors cut in and out or don’t work at all. However, when I connect my laptop to the dock through a 10gpbs amazon cable, the displays are stable and show up properly.

I’ve already tried another cable and another Anker dock, as well as updating the dock firmware and laptop drivers and bios, but none of those seem to fix the issue. Is there anything else I can try for troubleshooting this issue?

I had something similar when connecting faulty hardware to my PC. I would connect a broken device via USB-A on the front and the second USB-A would stop working while the device was connected.

Where you able to isolate the the cable itself is not the issue?

The cable itself seems to work, since when I use it with an external ssd, files transfer fine, even from the same port I’m using for connecting to the dock. It seems like the only time I have an issue with the cable is when it’s used to connect my laptop to the dock.
