My framework 13 with KDE Plasma 6 has been taking a while to login since I bought it and installed linux on it. If I close the lid and reopen it, so that it locks but doesn’t logout, logging in is almost instant. However, if I logout fully or restart the computer, it takes over a minute to log in. This is quite a bit slower than any other computers I’ve seen running plasma 6. I do not believe this is my ssd as it seems to be on par with m.2 gen 3 speeds.

How can I fix this?

I think there is a bug in Plasma 6.2 that causes “fresh log ins” to take a while as the splash screen gets stuck waiting on some call.

But I think this should have already been fixed in the newest KDE release

it seems not to have been fixed for me? I updated my computer today and restarted and it’s still happening?

I’m not sure what could be causing it. I I don’t know how well the Intel Core Ultra works with linux but I’ve had no problems (of this kind) with my AMD framework 13 with a relatively fresh install of Endeavour. Do you have a lot of applications that auto start at boot? That’s the only thing I can really come up with.

I’ve only got my browser to my knowledge

I just reinstalled sddm sddm-kcm eos-plasma-sddm-config and it changed nothing
