Framework 13 RAM slots covered by mainboard label

On the Framework 13 7840U I received, the label for the mainboard is covering up the RAM slots. All of the installation guides depict the mainboard label as being much smaller and positioned directly between the RAM slots. Will my RAM experience heating issues if this label isn’t trimmed/cut, or is it OK to leave it like this?

Hi there!

I definitely see what you’re saying and I have the same setup that you do. I haven’t had any heat issues with my Framework 13 on a 7840U even when under heavy load or gaming under Windows 11 or Linux (Ubuntu/Bazzite).

Thanks for the question! You need to keep that cover flap in place, since it’s actually RF shielding  we will be updating our guides accordingly.

Suggestion for future revision: place large letters on that flap ‘RF SHIELD - DO NOT REMOVE’.
They were a bit obnoxious when I went to install the RAM, and was tempted to remove them myself (they obscure the slot pins, making me less confident the RAM is installed correctly).

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll share that with the team!
