Framework 13 Speakers Not Working

I recently got my Framework 13 (specs are Intel 11th gen i7 core, 32 GB ram, 2tb ssd) and when I got it, the speakers didn’t work and says that no output devices found. What should I do?

Thanks

Did you install the driver package for your framework laptop from the framework website?

Yeah, I followed all the steps it gave.

When you remove the type cover do you see that the speakers are in fact plugged into the front left of the mainboard?

Yes I did, and it was connected properly.

The only thing I can think of is to check that you have the audio driver loaded by checking device manager. Additionally it might be good to reinstall the Framework 13 11th gen driver package. If this doesn’t work you might need to contact support.

Hey. Not sure if you managed to resolve this yet.

I happened to notice today te speaker in the system changed to an icon with a slash through it. I’m guessing it was because I hadn’t turned it on in a little while and it had to do a whole bunch of Windows Updates.

Anyway, once they were all done, I restarted and all appears to working just fine again.

So it is possible this is a driver issue? What I recommend is going into Device Manager, then Sound, Video and Game Controllers then double click High Definition Audio Device. Click on the Driver tab then Uninstall Device. You may also need to go to Audio Inputs and Outputs, then Speakers (High Defintion Audio Device), then go to the Driver tab, then Uninstall Device. Possibly do the same for the Microphone there, too.

Once you’ve uninstalled it - restart your laptop and see if Windows detects it and installs a driver for it.

Then, run the Framework Driver Bundle (download a fresh install from the Framework website here - BIOS and Drivers Downloads), and then once installed restart your laptop again.

Check to see if the audio device is detected.
