I have both a 2280 and a 2230 SSD in my Framework 16. When I tried to power it on today, after shutting it down normally last night, it kept showing a “Please wait” screen and was stuck there for >30m. I tried powering it off and on again multiple times to get to startup repair, but on the third try it just started saying “boot device not found”. Now, I can’t see either of two SSDs in the BIOS.
Suggestions on how to fix?
You probably shorted something out by forcing that 2242 in there. It is only made for a 2230 size drive.
Bah, typo. I meant 2230 and 2280.
Do you have a PC/other device that you can access and see if they changed from NTFS to Fat32?
So my 2230 had never been formatted, which is why it didnt show, and my 2280 drive is a bum drive. Shame, it was a brand new SiliconPower 4TB. Guess it’s RMA time. No issues with the FW, just put in another 2280 SSD and it’s working just fine.
