Framework 16 + dGPU with UGREEN 200W (140W) charger not charging the laptop

Hello all!

I’m a new joiner of the framework club with my Framework 16 Laptop Ryzen™ 7 7840HS equipped with the Radeon™ RX 7700S, but I’m running into issues with a third party UGREEN Nexode 200W (max port is 140W) charger.

The issue is simple: The laptop doesn’t want to charge while one with the 140W port. It would sometimes recognise the signal and blink the charging icon, but it end up more random than actually having reliable reproductive steps for it to happen again.

Apart from the 180w power supply (that I have), is there any third party, portable, high wattage power supply that would work?

Thanks all

Edit:
Some extra details, the charging doesn’t happen whether the laptop is on or off, I’m on the latest bios version (3.05) running windows 11

The FW16 is very finnicky about power management. There are multiple threads in the forum talking about issues with non-OEM chargers. We’re waiting (months now…) for a BIOS update (3.06?) to solve these issues, some of them have been identified by users in the FW13 section of the forums.

TL;DR: known issue, they are (supposedly) working on it.
