Framework 16 – Input Modules detected but not working + GPU/Fan detection issues (Bazzite)

Hi everyone,

I recently installed several new parts on my Framework Laptop 16 and I’m running into multiple hardware issues that I can’t resolve.

I’m using Bazzite, and both the keyboard and the trackpad are detected, but they do not work.

I also noticed that my AMD GPU Expansion Bay was not detected at first, and the fans were not detected either, even though everything was fully assembled.

Another detail: I’m not using the official spacers. I 3D-printed my own PLA spacers for both the keyboard and the trackpad, and I’m wondering if that could affect pressure, alignment, or the connectors.

Overall, it feels like there is inconsistent hardware detection across different modules (input modules, GPU, fans, etc.).

If anyone has run into something similar or has troubleshooting suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

The trackpad spacers won’t matter, but the keyboard spacers are active elements and thus need to communicate through the pogo pins with the EC in order to enable power to the input deck.

OK. I did’nt know that the keyboard were active. Did not find the information. I’ll get some then and see. Thanks
