Framework 16 will not boot

Framework 16, rx7700s, ryzen 7840HS, windows 11.

I am running 2x16 of crucial ddr5 5600 sodimm ram

Hey there! Tonight I did some tinkering with the laptop, new thermal paste mostly, and everything was running fine. Prior to tonight, I had uninstalled the adrenalin software and ran driver only due to bugs in the past, but tried reinstalling it to tinker with graphics settings in games. Upon accepting the prompted restart after switching my ram into gaming mode instead of productivity, my laptop never turned back on. I tried powering it off manually, removing the battery, unplugging the display port, trying the single stick of 32 GB that framework sent with the laptop, resetting the main board, removing the SSD, removing the graphics module, and nothing is working. I tried analyzing the led error code, but it is flashing more than 12 times, and the framework 16 led code support page only shows 12 led stages. Please help!

It flashes white once, then green all the way til the 13th colored flash, which is red, and then green for the rest, counting to a total of 22 flashes if you count the white one. I have a video but it will not let me post it here. As of now, I’m going to leave it on overnight to see if it magically boots, but I highly doubt it will. Help would be greatly appreciated!! I just hope it’s not a mainboard issue, because I don’t want to order another board just before my new pre ordered one comes in November…

it is a little bit strange. If it was working after changing thermal paste, then driver change should not cause such issue. At least you should see screen related to loading BIOS.

The only idea which I have is to reset mainboard/bios. here is instruction from another topic Framework 16 inch will not post - #8 by James3

If this does not help, then the only option will be to reach out to framework support

Hey @Agentorca1 Send our support a message. They’ll be glad to take a look at your blink code video and help determine what’s happening (since you can’t upload here).

Update: I woke up to a laptop that turned on. I’m gonna uninstall the adrenalin again and see if it still does this. If it does, I will contact support. If it doesn’t, I will continue as normal I guess. Should I reach out to support anyway?

Update: uninstalled adrenalin and went driver only, no issues upon restart, and also gained 80 fps in risk of rain 2.
