Framework charger not working with HP Probook 440 g5

The Framework Charger works fine with my Framework laptop, and any phone I connect it to. But my hp probook 440 g5 does not charge when the framework charger is connected to its USB-C port. When this laptop is connected to my monitor over USB-C it does charge. I hear a very faint clicking inside the probook while the charger is connected. As if there’s a small hardware switch which periodically resets.

Is this to be expected somehow, or is this a bug with the charger or the laptop? I don’t know exactly how the usb charging protocol works.

Most likely the laptop. Cheaper laptops USB-PD systems are lacking from my personal testing…

I tried USB-C Charging with my work HP 840 G5, I get like shocks whenever I touch the laptop chassis and the metal desk in the plant. I don’t get it with the Framework though.
