Ordered mine a week ago after the reviews started coming out. Hoping for Christmas, but maybe after New Year. 64GB version, looking to run Arch. Guess I’ll fiddle some more with front panel designs.
I had ordered my wife the desktop but realized later I had clicked 32gb of ram and she’s running 80% on 32gb now, so cancelled and bumped it to 64. Ironically she’s been using her framework 13 as a work pc since her desktop died last year. Surprisingly capable little guy.
Similar situation for me. I saw the Level 1 Techs and Jeff Geerling reviews and decided that’s enough of an endorsement to pick the Framework over the dozen or so other AMD 395+ options. The fact that Framework is seemingly the only company giving you 5gbE and an above average reputation for quality versus the rest and I too placed my order a week or so ago.
You’ve got a great attitude with regards to the time of shipment, but boy do I sure hope it’s not next year! From the current framework store:
So given that the Q3 to Q4 switch is from batch 11 to 12, it suggests batch 12 shipments begin in early October. If I’m understanding what others have said, shipments appear to come from Taiwan? So for my order in particular I’m hoping that means good things for delivery time since that would be a domestic delivery.

I am also hoping we can trust what Framework team says on the preorder page and our orders get shipped some time early Q4.
The OS does caching so it’s going to use as much RAM as you have available. It’s important to distinguish between memory that’s actively in use by programs, and what’s being used for the system cache. 32 GB is actually fine for most people, unless your wife is going to be doing 3D rendering or something resource intensive like that.
I’m looking forward to doing some crazy 3D rendering with the 128 GB version, but am also in batch 12 and it looks like we’ll be waiting for a while.

Her work is almost entirely browser remote compute based so it uses a ton of ram, especially with AI calculations now
Batch 13 here. How long you think? Also waiting for the 128gb version of the X+ so depending on which is able to ship first.
It took me awhile to finally place the order. It’s difficult to justify a purchase of this size for me but I do have a need for it.
I thought I read over the options quite carefully and added only what I needed. Browsing the order form for the Framework Desktop today, I am somewhat confused and very alarmed. Does the CPU not include a heatsink/fan at all?! Given the price I had hoped that I could expect at least a cooler. Is that not the case? If so, what cooler have you chosen for your desktop?
If you watch a few of the review videos youll see that there is, indeed, a heatsink/cooler that ships with the motherboard (and complete unit). So, no need to worry

Could we know approximately the number of orders per batch?
Framework have not released that information for any product.
I was a batch one and then got cold feet…. now i am a 12 after watching the reviews.
