Framework Desktop Batch 16 Guild

For those who are preordering 128GB Desktop or mainboards

I hope that the Q4 target is accurate for this batch. I’m recieving a replacement mainboard in this batch as I had previously recieved my desktop in Batch 13, but it had to be RMA-d :((

It was so cool using the desktop though, worth every penny!

Reporting in Batch 16 too!

When can we see the 385 back in stock.

Eagerly waiting for my Desktop, fingers crossed for Christmas delivery :crossed_fingers:t3:

I’ve been charged! I literally ordered on Sunday so this might be a quick turn around that came in with Batch 15?

I was about to be charged but I decided to cancel my batch 16 order, there’s just too many problems surfacing and the support really doesn’t seem that great. It’s a fairly new brand so I can understand that there are quality issues on new products, but the support should be excellent to compensate for that.

What issue are you referring to?

Mostly the ones related to the PSU, but this forum is filled with strange problems. This is what tipped the balance for me: FW Desktop heatsink not mounted properly?. I don’t get how that passed QA on their production line. It really feels like a gamble at this point and I don’t have the time to deal with a faulty device…

Ordered on the 19th, got charged last night and this morning I got the shipping notification!

I should receive it tomorrow or thursday, depending on what fedex option was used?

Honestly I don’t think there is anything wrong with that specific heatsink mounting. The isolation film between heatsink and board is flexible, its function is that of a barrier and in the linked case it looks fine.

There was another case however, where the protection film was not removed from the PTM sheet and therefore it immediately run into thermal throttling. How that can pass QC I have no clue. To be fair however, we have heard of only a single case like that on the forum here so far.

Ordered 128GB mainboard 11/22, charged 11/24 and tracking number supplied 11/25 for 2-day FedEx.

Was expecting much longer timeline and I’m out for Thanksgiving this week, hope I schedule delivery next week..

There have been issues, as can happen with a new product.

Support has had a lot going on so they’ve been a little slow. When they do get to a ticket, tho, they do an excellent job in my experience. I can’t fault them and recommend Framework based on support alone. Of course, the product is excellent, too!

Shipped 27th and on way, had the “Shipping Soon” notification 25th

Anyone else sitting with a “Clearance Delay”?

Clearance instructions from the importer are required.
Recommended action: Importer must provide instructions.
In clearance process.
Recommended action: No action required at this time.

I saw this happened with a previous batch a couple years ago and they claimed to have resolved it. I’ve contacted support. Hoping it won’t be too long

Just received my desktop :star_struck: The box is way smaller than what I expected (based on some YouTube videos).

Ordered on the 21st Nov, charged on the 25th, shipping notification on the 26th, and delivery today on the 28th (3 days before the estimated delivery time of 1st of Dec).

I think ours are both sitting next to each other in Mepmphis lol. I have the same clearance delay at the same time, think we just had some normal unluckiness and our pallete got an inspection.

Yep, stuck at import clearance process at the same location.

Is anyone with 128GB mainboard setup running into the PSU noise issues? Noisy PSU fan

Looking for some reassurances from latest batch, its been sitting in my cart and hope to purchase one soon.
