Framework desktop bluetooth not loading on Windows 11

Bluetooth doesn’t seem to load on my framework desktop under windows 11. It seems to at least see devices on Ubuntu.

I saw a post in September with similar behavior but no apparent responses. This isn’t a high priority item for me, but it is annoying. Based on the September post, I forced the wifi driver to the OOBE version for RZ717 (2/18/2025 5.5.0.3366 ). (Not sure if it was different before)

I have not experienced anything like this, sounds like it could be a legit faulty Wifi/Bluetooth network card. They are fairly easy to replace.

Had a similar issue last year when I freshly installed Win 11 Pro. I had to reinstall the BT drivers a few times to make it work. There are a ton of driver issues on Windows with this AMD platform. If that still doesn’t work, you might have a faulty hardware card.

What driver is showing for bluetooth? The FW driver pack has RZ717 Bluetooth Driver 1.1043.0.555 and you can download an updated version from microsoft here:

Mediatek Inc. Driver Update - BT

MediaTek, Inc. Driver Update - WiFi

Thanks, I futzed around in a way that is not clearly reproducible, it looks like I now have RZ717 wifi drivers from 8/22/2025 version 5.6.0.4444 and bluetooth driver 11/7/2025 version 1.1045.0.563.

For a while I was confused because Bluetooth disappeared from device manager, until I used View→Show Hidden Devices

I could see that an 8/2/2025 bluetooth driver was installed, but no device was found. I tried to update driver to the newer version, and it still wasn’t found.

I then powered the system off, and unplugged it for good measure, and everything is working now.

I have been through the same issue. And the official driver bundle fixed it.
