Framework Laptop 16 Screen Black, External Displays work

Hello everybody,
I am having an issue recently with the Laptop Display suddenly going black periodically. Occasionally resets will fix the issue but eventually the screen goes black again. I have the Framework Laptop connected to two different docks. One is a Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Dock connected to two 1080p Monitors, and the other one is a Plugable Thunderbolt 4 Dock (All USB-C) that connects my external SSD and 4k Drawing Tablet. All of the external monitors work perfectly fine and on the windows display settings, the laptop display shows up as a display there. I notice sometimes on restart even the Framework logo on startup won’t show but the system definitely boots and still works on external monitors.

  • I am using Windows 11
  • I have a Framework 17 AMD 7040
  • I am using 32GB of Crucial RAM (5600)

I have tried:

  • Reinstalling Windows 11
  • Restarting the mainboard (Pressing that button inside the chasis 10 times)
  • Updating Framework Drivers (Using the Driver Package)
  • Updating AMD Drivers
  • Updating Bios
  • Disconnecting and Reconnecting the Display Cable

I have also encountered an issue where my HDMI expansion card wouldn’t work but I am not sure if it’s just user error and I’m doing something incorrectly. Thought it would be good to mention that too in case it gave extra hints towards the problem

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I noticed strange behavior with thunderbolt docks. Since I switched to a pure USB-C dock, everything works fine.
PS: I’m using linux. Works better and easier to troubleshoot.
