My Bambu X1c is not even close to fitting it on the bed, and even the H2D won’t fit it. It looks like the H2S might just barely fit this on the bed, and the Prusa XL will fit it comfortably. Is anyone willing to print these for the community for a small fee?
Yes X1C owner with the same problem here. Prusa XL is the only one that will print one flat.
I played with it, and it looks like it may juuuussstt fit on the new H2S (which is the H2D with a single head), but it will be close and curling will be an issue, as it always is when going right up to the edges. I have not looked at any other brands of larger printers.
My Creality K2 Plus has 350x350x350. But the STL shows the longest side has 351.60
I rotated it diagonally and now I can print it.
Will you print it and send us pictures of it?
I have a 400mm ratrig. I won’t be needing one for my 12, so I could spit one out for a frameworker in the Vegas area.
I’m not interested in shipping anything. Don’t ask.
I will print in in 1 hour and send some pictures
Still printing but quality is bad. I was in a hurry and it’s the wrong temperature.
Update: it looks a bit better now.
Update 2:
It finished printing. I only have the frosted PEI plate.
I think I need a smooth one so it feels better (for me).
Nice, thanks for the pictures!
Here is the final result
The rough surface feels strange but still better than the spacers. It’s very tight but good.
You have to pay attention to the screws.
I really like this, but unfortunately I don’t have a 3D printer. I guess I’ll see about getting it through a 3D printing service. Anything recommendations, like for material and such?
I’ve printed it with common PLA, but FW can get very hot and this could be a problem for standard PLA.
I had high temperature PETG I would use (I used it for parts for my heaters) but it’s bright blue.
So PLA HT or PETG HT would be a good choice.
We’ve tested both textured and smooth print surfaces, and smooth feels better for this use case.
Somebody needs to print it in black, put a black skin on the touchpad, with the top deck in all black, it would look sick.
I would quite like to have a carbon fibre effect if that’s possible. I think people have printed onto carbon fibre before to transfer the look across.
There are special build plates for that. You can even produce holographic effects with diffraction gratings. Whatever the surface texture of the plate the print will have the negative of it down to the microscopic level.
not the touchpad but someone (on reddit) printed it in black, it looks very cool!
