FW 13 Ryzen 7840U unresponsive day after 3.09 update

I updated my FW 13 Ryzen 7840U to UEFI 3.09 yesterday morning. The update went without issue and the system worked fine throughout the day. I closed the lid to put it to sleep and went to sleep myself last night as I usually do.

This morning, I opened the lid and it didn’t wake from sleep. Not unusual, so I powered it off and powered it on with the power button. Completely unresponsive except for the power LED. I went through normal troubleshooting steps; plugging it into a monitor to see if it was just the display- no change. I disassembled it to make sure all the internal cables were solidly connected- I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Removed and replaced each stick of RAM individually to see if one had somehow gone bad- still no change. Went through motherboard reset steps- no change.

I can’t imagine it was the UEFI update that bricked it because the update completed without issue and it worked without issue for the rest of the day. It’s not giving any diagnostic LEDs or anything else, it’s just completely bricked for seemingly no reason.

Update for anyone that may be having a similar issue:
I got in touch with support and went through the troubleshooting steps with them. They have determined that the mainboard needs replacing. Luckily, mine is still under warranty.

Still not sure what could have caused it, but glad to see Framework putting in the work!

Welcome to the community! Thanks for the update about your board needing to be replaced.

Sleep and the Framework laptops have been a while. Especially not connected to a charger. There have been a few cases where it exhausts the battery and sometimes does not come back.

Shutting down and hibernation are the safest choices until some of the quirks from the EC are solved.
